Size Guides

Where possible our product descriptions will contain fitting information, including size charts for clothing, and conversion charts for shoes. These charts are to be used as a guide only and do not take the place of a personal fitting. If possible personal fittings are recommended.

Dance & Play are happy to exchange products of incorrect size, please check our information pages (delivery & returns) for terms and conditions that apply.

SHOE FITTING:
Please read the information provided in the product description of each product, as fittings may vary according to brand. Many of the shoes have custom size guides, click on the product and scroll down to find them.

Tips to help you choose Shoe size:

• Check the product description for fitting details such as; whether a wide or narrow fitting, small or generous sizing, and follow accordingly.
• Check whether shoes are Fractional (US, street size), or Straight (UK, school shoe size )

If unsure of the Shoe size, please provide the following information in the 'additional information' box at the checkout, we will use this information to check the size and contact you if required:

• Current regular shoe size and type of shoe.
• If the foot is narrow, average or wide. 
• Do you wish to have growing room or a firm fit.
• Measurement of the foot: Please measure sitting down with the foot off the ground, use a ruler and measure from the heel to the end of the big toe, or longest toe. (standing will flatten the foot and give a false measurement).

GARMENT FITTING: 
Please read the information provided in the product description of each product, as fittings may vary according to brand. Many garments have custom size guides, click on the product and scroll down to find them.

Tips to help you choose Garment size:

• Check the product description for fitting details such as; whether fitted or loose, small or generous sizing, and follow accordingly. Design elements will influence fit i.e. some garments are designed to be worn loose and others are designed to be worn tight.
• The current street size worn can be used as a guide, but please be aware that most dancewear is worn firm, and you may like to go up a size if extra comfort or growing room is needed. 
• Energetiks size charts will give a very firm fit, if extra comfort or growing room is needed please go up a size.
• It is recommended to use your current leotard size when choosing size for Costumes and Tutus. No size charts are available for these.

If unsure of Garment size, please provide the following information in the 'additional information' box at the checkout, we will use this information to check the size and contact you if required:

• Current regular clothing size.
• Current leotard size. 
• Age (if a child), and whether small, average, large, tall or short for their age.
• Do you wish to have growing room or a firm fit.
   

COSTUME & TUTU FITTING: 
Please read the information provided in the product description of each product, as fittings may vary according to brand and style. 
Size charts are currently not available for Costumes & Tutus.

Tips to help you choose Costume & Tutu size:

• Check the product description for fitting details such as; whether fitted or loose, small or generous sizing, and follow accordingly. 
• We recommend using your current leotard size to choose sizing for Costumes and Tutus. 
• As many of the Costumes and Tutus are a neat fitting we recommend if in doubt to go up a size. Straps can easily be adjusted to pull a Costume or Tutu up and sides can easily be run in. You may not have another 8 weeks to wait for a replacement Costume or Tutu.

If unsure of Costume or Tutu size, please provide the following information in the 'additional information' box at the checkout, we will use this information to check the size and contact you if required:

• Current leotard size (Important).
• Current regular clothing size. 
• Age (if a child), and whether small, average, large, tall or short for their age.
• Do you wish to have growing room or a firm fit.
