Shirring Elastic is a high quality polyester elastic that is perfect for shirring, gathering and decoration. It is used by hand winding the elastic to your bobbin with slight tension, with a regular thread as a top thread. The end result gives a smocked appearance. Shirring is most suitable for light-to-midweight fabrics.
